The Schmittenhöhe with a height of 2,000 meters is located at the gates of Zell am See. It offers an unique area for recreation in a breathtaking backdrop of ice, snow and green meadows. The city center is a great place for short tours. Having a stroll in the shopping streets or taking a break at the weekly market is a great opportunity to get in contact with the country and the local people.
Also the town of Kaprun is worth a trip. It enchants with the impressive glacier Kitzsteinhorn and the medieval castle Kaprun, which has been built in the 12th century and restored in 1975. Some of the skiing slopes at the Kitzsteinhorn can also be used during summer.
