A tour in the old town of Salzburg offers a magnificent ensemble of this world famous city. The house, where Mozart was born, Getreidegasse No. 9, is located in the very center of the old town. Today it is surrounded by coffeehouses, boutiques and stores of famous designers. The passageways which connect the Getreidegasse with the Universitätsplatz are a real beauty. Your walk continues at the Alter Markt: here you can find Salzburg’s smallest house, opposite of the K.K. pharmacy. From this point, you are able to sight the fortress Hohensalzburg for the first time. You get the full view, if you walk past the patriarchal residence. The Salzburg Dome is the most famous sight in Mozart’s city and is the backdrop for the play “Jedermann” in summer.
